Chess Club

Our school offers International Chess as one of the CCAs. According to John Artise (B.S., M.A.) in his years of psychological research, there are four areas of growth in chess: memory improvement, logic, observation and analysis, and operant conditioning. It is therefore beneficial for children to learn chess at a young age to help develop their learning potential.

Every year, some of our Chess Club members would have the opportunities to participate in national competitions such as National Schools Individual Chess Championship and National Inter-School Team Chess Championships. We encourage members to gain exposure as well as enriching experiences in chess, and to discover their own potential while enjoying this mind sport.
