Code of Conduct
Purpose
In Lianhua Primary School, our students are expected to adhere by our school rules and regulations.
The school rules and regulations state clearly the boundaries of acceptable conduct in school. Enforcement of school rules and regulations are done with the intention of teaching the students to uphold acceptable standards of behaviour.
School Rules and Regulations
- Students who are Singapore citizens must sing the National Anthem and take the Pledge. Students must recite the Pledge with the right fist placed over the heart.
- Non-Singapore citizens must stand at attention while the National Anthem is sung and the Pledge is taken.
- Students must be punctual for school and arrive by 7.25am.
- Students will assemble at their designated places upon arriving in school.
- Students will be courteous and show respect to all.
- Students will complete and submit work assigned on time.
- Students will take good care of school property.
- Students will uphold the good name of the school and be self-disciplined at all times.
- Students will observe safety and not run within school premises.
- Students will keep the school environment clean.
- Students will remain in the school premises and not leave without permission.
- Students will not leave the school premises after school while waiting for the start of the next activity. e.g. tutorial, enrichment classes or CCA unless parents’ requests have been made and their teachers are informed.
- Students are not allowed to have in their possession any weapon. They are also not allowed to bring any weapon-like item which is used or intended to be used to cause harm to others.
- The following items are not allowed in school:
- Dangerous or offensive items such as knives, pen knives, matches, lighters etc.
- Tobacco products and controlled drugs.
- Toys, trading cards and poker cards.
- Electronic devices such as MP3 players, handheld computer games, mobile phones etc.
- Any other items that may disrupt learning
Attire & Appearance
All students are expected to wear the school uniform and the PE attire on days when they have PE lessons. Any modification to the uniform is not allowed.

Plain black shoes without any coloured stripes or design

Skirt’s length near kneecap
1. Jewellery or ornaments are not allowed.
2. Girls who have their ears pierced should only use one simple stud of gold or silver for each ear.
3. Fingernails must be kept short and clean.
4. Nail varnish is not allowed.
5. Putting on make-up is not permitted.
Hair (Boys)
1. Hair must be short and neatly combed.
2. Hair must be cropped at the back, gently sloping down to reach the neck.
3. Outlandish hairstyles are strictly prohibited.
4. The fringe must not touch the eyebrows when combed down.
5. Hair must not reach the eyebrows, ears or the shirt collar.
6. Hair must not be dyed or highlighted.
7. No moustache, beard or sideburns is allowed.
Hair (Girls)
1. Girls with hair touching the collar must tie it up neatly with dark blue/black hair accessories ensuring that the fringe does not touch the eyebrows or is pinned up at all times
2. Girls with short hair must also keep the fringe short or pin it up.
3. Hair must not be dyed or highlighted.
4. Hair extension and punky hairstyles are strictly prohibited.
Offences and Consequences
Our school recognizes that most disciplinary issues presented by students are related to emotional and psychological reasons as well as learning difficulties. Hence, such students are managed by the school disciplinary personnel in consultation with the school counsellors and learning support co-ordinators.
